Helping a Growing Beverage Café Capture Incremental Food Dollars

THE CHALLENGE

Argo Tea, a Chicago-based operator of thirty-plus tea cafes, noticed that customers were coming in for their signature tea beverages while clutching a bag of food from somewhere else. They knew they needed a sophisticated food program to entice consumers, but had limited space, equipment, and culinary skills in their stores.

OUR WORK

We identified an opportunity to focus on capturing the flavors of Argo’s proprietary teas in food form for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We developed three product lines (Teany Panini, TeaBites, and Whole Grain Bowls), oversaw the scale-up of tea-infused proteins, and developed in-store operational training materials for the execution of each new menu item.

THE RESULT

Argo Tea stores implemented the new menu and saw traffic and same-store sales increase.
