CREATING A NEW-TO-THE-WORLD PRODUCT

THE CHALLENGE

Erzo came to Mattson wanting to develop a prenatal vitamin in a food form. Many women have difficulty “keeping down” prenatal vitamins, especially in the first trimester. Therefore, there needed to be a food vehicle to get women the nutrients they needed and that was delicious.

OUR WORK

We recommended they model their product after a digestive biscuit, to help ease consumption. The daily recommendation for prenatal vitamins is higher than what is typically found in food form, making formulation a challenge. From concept to commercialization, we formulated a non-GMO biscuit snack that emulated a cereal bar for on-the-go consumption—with all of the nutrients that expectant mothers need.

THE RESULT

In 2016, Erzo launched their new product and began rolling out distribution.
