I learned to cook and appreciate great food from my Greek mother who regularly made simple, close-to-the-earth yet delicious Mediterranean dishes like dolmas, avgolemono soup and moussaka. She even made hummus, fresh pocket bread and strained her own Greek yogurt back in the ‘70’s, traditions I carry with me today. A meal of small-bites, where so many different flavors and textures can be enjoyed in one sitting, is my go-to. My all time favorite: a 13-course dinner paired with wines at Michelin star Madrona Manor Restaurant in Healdsburg, CA.
