In 2011, Justin joined Mattson as the company’s senior technical leader with responsibility for the technical quality of concepts, products, and commercialization activity. He guides Mattson’s vibrant technical community of cross-trained food scientists, chefs, commercialization specialists, and regulatory experts.
Justin is a food product and process development veteran who learned his craft inside some of the food and beverage industry’s most recognized firms–General Mills, Nestle, E. & J. Gallo Winery, and Del Monte Foods. Justin has a Ph.D. in food science from the University of California, Davis and Bachelors of Science degrees in both food science and nutrition at the University of Minnesota.
Justin is an active member and volunteer leader at several organizations transforming the food industry, including The Institute of Food Technologists, the UC Davis Food Science & Technology Advisory Board, and Google’s Innovation Lab for Food Experiences.
