REIMAGINING THE COFFEE EXPERIENCE
Food Scientist Jarret and serial entrepreneur Andy partnered together to create the world’s first coffee without the bean. Their goal was to deliver the same physiological and sensorial experience as a traditionally harvested coffee but without the toll on the environment.
Working arm-in-arm with the scientists at Atomo, Mattson explored many different upcycled plant-based materials that could be used in formulating the world’s first true coffee experience without the bean. With iterative and collaborative work sessions – taking advantage of the world class facilities and experience at Mattson – Atomo was able to move from a garage prototype into the next phase of product development.
Mattson’s technical exploration and proof-of-concept work enabled Atomo to instill confidence in their investors and accelerate the launch of the world’s first molecular coffee.
