GROWING INTO NEW STORE CONCEPTS & CATEGORIES

THE CHALLENGE

Yogurtland, a well established frozen yogurt chain known for sweet frozen desserts, with locations in over 20 states, sought to move beyond their current category. Their goal was to develop an entirely new fast casual concept with a brand new menu that had the ability to span multiple dayparts while appealing to both current and new guests.

OUR WORK

Mattson partnered with Yogurtland to identify on-trend casual dining concepts with high growth potential. We led Yogurtland through a collaborative online ideation, a food field immersion to see and taste the trends, as well as hands-on work sessions in Mattson’s Food Studio. In addition to conceptualizing the store concept, Mattson developed the menus and recipes for a line of toasts, grain bowls, and beverages that delivered on the brand promise of ultimate customization. Along the way Mattson conducted consumer research to refine and optimize the platforms and also identified and evaluated critical in-store equipment.

THE RESULT

Yogurtland is opening Holsom in November 2020 and has plans for additional locations in 2021.
