We developed a proprietary formula and production process combining stevia, erythritol (natural sugar alcohol), and natural flavors that enabled Cargill to build a point of difference in the growing stevia market.
Cargill launched Truvia in 2008. By 2011, Truvia displaced Sweet’N Low as the second most popular sugar alternative and surged to gain 12.8% of the over $2 billion tabletop alternative sweetener segment in the United States.
